2025 finished off for us in the usual fine style. First was our annual Xmas meal on Thursday 18 December, this time at the Walter Arms, Wokingham, where as usual shortly after Paul disappeared Santa turned up to dispense the usual delightful array of Secret Santa presents. And boy was everyone delighted!? (if you were there, please don’t answer). After Santa’s appearance and Paul’s reappearance, Robert was presented with the inaugural ‘gusto and spirit award’, reflecting his excellent contribution to the team over the previous 12 months. Then on Saturday 20th we were in Wokingham on a bright sunny day for the St. Thomas’s Day dance out, this time taking in Elms Field, the Outhouse Brewery, and Peach Place before finishing up at the Queens Head for dancing and carols. It was notable how certain members of the team (looking at you, BenP) were only too keen to volunteer for all the dances during the day, perhaps with their eyes on the prize of next year’s gusto and spirit (aka the gas) award? And talking of gusto, there was certainly some of that applied to the singing of the carols, many of which were sung at least partially in tune. Anyway, a great end to another great year!
