In September we were back at the Bromyard Folk Festival for the first time in 20 years – always an excellent event, with a sprinkling of fine local teams and some like us from further afield. For us it started on the Friday evening with a torchlight procession around town and a dance spot in the Market Square. With some of the team not arriving till the Saturday, to make up numbers we joined with the Outside Capering Crew for the procession and a lively version of Knees Up – a relic from our Big Caper shows with them. Then with reinforcements of dancers on the Saturday we were able to perform a good range of dances during the day, firstly on the main festival site and then later in town, before a ceilidh spot in the evening which included a spirited Glorishers for the first time in a very long time. There was more dancing on the Sunday morning before rain curtailed proceedings after lunch, but overall an enjoyable weekend and a good way to finish the main dancing season.
