Once more into the breeches…

... at the Ashmolean Museum. And he's away!

A slow start to the year, with the Omicron variant of Covid in wide circulation causing us to start our January practices once again on Zoom – yes, more mayhem for our kitchen flooring and lighting. But it wasn’t all doom and gloom on Zoom – on January 29th BB fielded 2 teams in the always challenging Wokingham Save the Children Quiz held on Zoom, finishing very creditably 1st and 4th. And with more encouraging Covid news emerging, our Scout Hut practices restarted in February, albeit still with some understandable caution.

Eventually though, the world started to return to normal, and we had an event to go to! On Sat 23rd April we were at the Oxford Folk Festival for the day, and a small team acquitted itself admirably, though the day was not without incident including something of a breeches malfunction for Charles to contend with throughout the day. But it was just great to be back at a proper event and dancing with other teams again.

And then just over a week later on Monday 2nd May, the Mayday bank holiday, we were the only morris team at the Wokingham May Fayre, a large event taking over much of the centre of Wokingham including the new Elms Field development. We had two separate stints on the paved area outside the Elms Field shops, and attracted a decent audience both times.
